There are money hungry mechanics and there are trustworthy mechanics Griffin Auto is a VERY HUNGRY shop in my opinion. 3 Surprise Charges and nothing fixed i came for after a very high quote. I only asked for a quote and got billed over $700 until I had to complain Which I don't like to do because I pay well to most peoples standard and I everybody needs to make a living. 1. Surprise Charge $160 for a battery terminal bolt that goes for $6.99 at auto zone. I didn't ask them to change it this wasnt an issue until it was in their posession (fact) and they could've just tightened the existing bolt down or offer me to pick up the vehicle or authorize the charge first. 2. $400 in Lug Nuts for f150 that I didn't ask for or authorize. Yes that's not a typo $400 for $20 worth if lug nuts 3. $120 diagnosis fee or so which I can respect this but it was a surprise because I use multiple other mechanic shops on grand river Nobody up there charges diag except tuffy sometimes does and they tell you up front. Sure theres two sides two every story and im sure they did spend an hour on the vehicle so i get that but I can still tell you 100% that the money appetite for this shop is why I'm would not recommend anyone trust them unless they have money to give away. In their defense they discount the bill after complaining but the fact that they even tried to charge 700 for virtually nothing is a eye opening.
Sorry you feel that way Adam but you’re not being truthful at all. You paid $136.00 for lug nuts, we waived your diagnostic fees( which we did not owe you that courtesy), and you paid a total of $275.19 for us to let you know what you needed and you just expect that people work for free it seems. Let your doctor know that the next time you go in because you’re sick and see how fast they say sorry we can’t help you or your dentist or the grocery store that you feel you are owed some free stuff. The world doesn’t work that way and neither do we. In my opinion it’s you who are money hungry and untrustworthy. If you are going to slam someone at least be honest on what your intentions were which is to waste our time and think these technicians are unworthy of being paid for their time and expertise. Sounds like you need to find a shop that works for nothing just for you…
